Status Summary

JetBlue filed a Form 8-K on August 27 reporting that two Icahn Group designees had left its board effective August 24 after the group’s ownership fell below the contractual threshold for two appointments. JetBlue separately announced that the board would consist of 11 members, ten of whom were independent. The filing stated that the departures did not result from disagreement with JetBlue’s operations, policies, or practices.

The change was internal to JetBlue governance. It did not create shared United / JetBlue directors, common control, centralized cross-carrier management, or a joint Flight Attendant labor structure under Blue Sky.

United CWA-AFA published carrier-specific reserve guidance on August 27 addressing increased use of Reserve Move-Up Lines. The guidance explained that lines are built from open time during the first five days of the bid month, described opt-out and preference procedures, and allowed participating reserves to protect as many as four days. The process applied only to United Flight Attendants and did not establish common Blue Sky scheduling.

JetBlue continued to state that Blue Sky involved two separate airlines and that itineraries combining JetBlue-operated and United-operated flights still required separate bookings. CrewSignal identified no exact-week CWA-AFA–TWU Local 579 Flight Attendant protocol, JCBA, seniority arrangement, shared labor-administration development, NMB application, or NMB single-transportation-system determination.

The NMB’s August 24–28 activity report listed no new representation application, authorized election, ballot instructions, or closed representation case affecting Blue Sky or either Flight Attendant group.
