Status This Week
The published TA2 calendar placed a virtual NMB mediation session on 2026.08.19, within this reporting window. The public TA2 page reviewed on 2026.08.25 did not display a written post-session recap, so CrewSignal records the scheduled session but does not infer a bargaining result.
Contract timing: The published PSA agreement was effective through 2023.07.15. As of 2026.08.21, 3 years, 1 month and 6 days—1,133 days—had elapsed since that amendable-date benchmark. That full period spans the original bargaining process, the first tentative agreement and the current TA2 effort; it should not be presented as time spent solely on TA2.
Process Signals
- The NMB FY2027 budget justification continues to identify PSA among the CWA-AFA Flight Attendant cases in federal mediation. The NMB weekly report for August 17–21 did not identify a PSA status change and does not prove whether the scheduled virtual session occurred or what was discussed.
- The August 4 update remains the latest detailed public bargaining account located. It states that the first TA2 meeting occurred on July 31 under NMB oversight and that CWA-AFA presented a targeted proposal seeking a higher raise, boarding pay upon ratification and a larger signing-bonus pool. The union’s approximately 30 percent immediate-wage figure is an estimate attached to its proposal, not an agreement.
- The previously announced calendar also included September 4 virtually and September 22 in person. The public TA2 page identifies a CWA-AFA staff attorney on the negotiating team.
CrewSignal Assessment
PSA’s elapsed time is one of the clearest examples of why amendable dates should be visible. Shared legal support, international leadership, NMB-supervised sessions and a defined calendar demonstrate multi-carrier resources in use; the outcome test remains whether TA2 produces ratifiable economics and timely implementation.
Because the 1,133-day measure includes both TA1 and TA2, it should be used to describe the workgroup’s total wait beyond the contractual benchmark—not to imply that the present TA2 committee controlled the entire period. No new written contractual result was verified this week.
