Status This Week
CWA-AFA scheduled its first TA2 negotiations town hall for 2026.08.13, bringing the carrier committee, a professional staff attorney and the CWA-AFA international president into a member briefing. The public TA2 page reviewed on 2026.08.20 did not display a post-town-hall bargaining recap.
Process Signals
- The next announced NMB mediation session was August 19 virtually, followed by September 4 virtually and September 22 in person.
- The August 4 update remains the latest detailed public bargaining account: CWA-AFA presented a targeted proposal seeking a larger raise, boarding pay upon ratification and a larger signing-bonus pool. The union estimated that the raise and immediate boarding pay would equal an average immediate wage increase of approximately thirty percent; those were proposed terms and a union estimate, not an agreement.
- The NMB weekly activity report for August 10–14 did not identify a PSA-specific docket, reassignment, ratification or closure. No new tentative agreement, ratification vote, release from mediation or cooling-off period was publicly announced during the reporting window.
CrewSignal Assessment
PSA offers concrete evidence of multi-carrier resources being deployed: professional legal support, international leadership participation, NMB-supervised bargaining and a defined follow-up calendar. Those inputs may strengthen leverage and member understanding, but the outcome test remains the written TA2 economics and whether Flight Attendants receive enough verified improvement to ratify the agreement. This week added member engagement, not a new contractual result.
