Status This Week
CWA-AFA issued two substantive TA2 updates this week. The union reported that the first TA2 meeting occurred on 2026.07.31 in Washington, D.C., under NMB oversight, and on 2026.08.05 announced three additional mediation dates and an August 13 member town hall.
Process Signals
- The union presented a targeted economic proposal seeking a higher raise, boarding pay effective upon ratification rather than after one year, and a larger signing-bonus pool. CWA-AFA estimates the raise and immediate boarding pay would produce an average immediate wage increase of approximately thirty percent; that is a union estimate, not an agreed term.
- CWA-AFA reported that PSA and American said their financial position was no better than during TA1 bargaining. CrewSignal treats that as the union’s account of management’s position.
- Additional NMB mediation is scheduled for 2026.08.19 virtually, 2026.09.04 virtually and 2026.09.22 in person. A TA2 town hall is scheduled for 2026.08.13 with the negotiating committee, a professional staff attorney and the CWA-AFA international president.
- No new tentative agreement, ratification vote or NMB release was announced during the reporting window.
CrewSignal Assessment
PSA provides the strongest evidence this week of multi-carrier union resources being deployed in a carrier campaign: NMB-supervised bargaining, professional legal support, international leadership participation and a defined sequence of follow-up dates. Those inputs matter, but they are not the result. The test is whether the targeted proposal produces materially improved, fully documented terms that PSA Flight Attendants will ratify.
