Piedmont / CWA-AFA Negotiations

Week ending 2026.09.11

Status This Week

No written Piedmont bargaining update dated during the 2026.09.05–2026.09.11 reporting window was located. The public newsletter archive continued to show August 12 briefing notices as its newest negotiations-related entries.

Contract timing: Public CWA-AFA sources support 2026.03.02 as a working amendable-date marker from the four-year term and March 2 contract anniversary, although the formal duration clause was not located. As of 2026.09.11, 6 months and 9 days—193 days—had elapsed beyond that marker. The 2025.11.17 opener was 9 months and 25 days—298 days—before this report.

CrewSignal Assessment

The 193-day post-marker period is comparatively short and the reported fifteen tentative agreements indicate meaningful early progress. The lack of a durable August or September recap is nevertheless an accountability weakness because members cannot independently determine whether momentum continued.

CWA-AFA’s multi-carrier model should be able to provide both technical contract expertise and consistent public reporting. The Piedmont record presently supports the first claim more clearly than the second.
