Status This Week
No written Piedmont bargaining update dated during the 2026.08.29–2026.09.04 reporting window was located. The public newsletter archive continued to show August 12 briefing notices as its newest negotiations-related entries, and the standing negotiations page still displayed an older June session notice.
Contract timing: Public CWA-AFA sources say the prior four-year agreement was ratified on 2022.03.02 and identify March 2 as the contract anniversary. That supports 2026.03.02 as a working amendable-date marker, although the formal duration clause was not located. As of 2026.09.04, 6 months and 2 days—186 days—had elapsed beyond that marker. The opener is dated 2025.11.17, 9 months and 18 days—291 days—before this report.
Process Signals
- The last detailed written update located reported fifteen tentatively agreed sections. CrewSignal does not change that count without a later durable bargaining recap.
- The public negotiations page’s stale “Next Session: June 8–10” display limits its value as a live accountability tool. The newsletter archive confirms later August activity notices but not the proposal-by-proposal result of the August 12–14 session.
- Piedmont is not named among the continuing CWA-AFA mediation cases listed in the NMB FY2027 budget justification. The available public record therefore remains consistent with direct negotiations.
CrewSignal Assessment
Piedmont’s post-marker period is much shorter than the long-running federal mediation cases, and the record shows an early opener, repeated sessions and meaningful section-level progress. The missing August recap nevertheless prevents members from measuring what the latest work accomplished.
CWA-AFA’s experience across carriers could be especially valuable in PBS and scheduling design. That comparative advantage is stronger when accompanied by current section counts, proposal responsibility and durable explanations of the tradeoffs under consideration.
