Status This Week
Piedmont’s scheduled 2026.08.12–2026.08.14 bargaining session in Philadelphia fell within this reporting window. On August 12, Council 61 announced an August 15 post-negotiations Zoom and referenced a PHL crew walk; no bargaining outcome was publicly posted by the August 14 cutoff.
Process Signals
- The prior written negotiations update reported 15 tentatively agreed sections, identified Training for an expected August response, and said Sections 5, 7 and 31 were tied to the company’s proposed move to preferential bidding.
- CWA-AFA’s August 7 PBS explainer expressly stated that PBS remained a company proposal, had not been finalized or implemented, and would be voted on only as part of a complete tentative agreement. The related targeted survey closed August 10.
- The carrier newsletter archive reviewed on 2026.08.20 showed the August 12 Zoom and crew-walk notices as its latest negotiations-related postings, so CrewSignal does not infer the result of the August 12–14 session.
CrewSignal Assessment
Piedmont provides this week’s clearest combination of active table dates, member education and local mobilization. The detailed PBS education shows a practical use of specialized bargaining knowledge, and a multi-carrier structure can widen the experience and contract-language base available to the local committee. That is useful process support, but the session cannot be scored as a gain without a published proposal exchange, tentative agreement or post-session account.
