Status This Week
Horizon CWA-AFA’s October 6 response to management’s pay calculator is the principal same-week public development. It distinguishes the parties’ compensation proposals from a completed agreement and explains that final pay rates remained unresolved.
Process Signals
- The union stated that it had agreed to the boarding-pay formula used in management’s calculator. Agreement on that formula does not establish agreement on the pay scale or the complete economic package.
- CWA-AFA challenged the calculator’s assumptions about guarantees, reserve compensation, and monthly boardings. Those concerns should be read as the union’s account of the proposal, not as independently adjudicated findings.
- The July 14 mediation calendar had scheduled October 5–6 meetings in Chicago, followed by November 12–13 and December 15–17. The calendar establishes planned sessions; it does not establish their outcomes.
CrewSignal Assessment
The October 6 communication narrows the public disagreement: boarding-pay methodology had advanced, but the pay rates and broader compensation settlement had not been resolved. Readers should not treat calculator estimates as promised earnings under an approved contract.
