Status This Week
No newly dated carrier-specific bargaining update was publicly posted during the 2026.08.08–2026.08.14 reporting window. Horizon CWA-AFA’s published calendar identifies 2026.08.25–2026.08.26 as the next anticipated mediation dates.
Process Signals
- The NMB FY2027 budget justification continues to identify Horizon among the CWA-AFA Flight Attendant cases in federal mediation.
- The NMB weekly activity report for August 10–14 did not list a Horizon-specific docket, reassignment, ratification or closure. It does not disclose every meeting or exchange in an already-open case.
- The strike-authorization vote remains an organizing and leverage signal, not a direct strike trigger. Horizon CWA-AFA’s own explanation states that lawful self-help would first require an NMB impasse determination and proffer, rejection of arbitration, and completion of the statutory cooling-off process.
CrewSignal Assessment
Horizon’s published mediation calendar and member mobilization show the ability to sustain a campaign, and a multi-carrier union can add legal, communications and bargaining support to that effort. Those resources do not establish weekly progress by themselves. With no new session report, tentative agreement or NMB status change, the objective assessment remains continued mediation awaiting the August 25–26 session.
