Status This Week
Frontier Flight Attendants picketed outside company headquarters on September 8, joined by CWA-AFA international officers, Flight Attendants from other airlines and Frontier pilots. The parties were scheduled to bargain September 9–10 on Scheduling, Hours of Service and Reserve; no written post-session result dated by the September 11 cutoff was located.
Contract timing: Frontier’s Flight Attendant agreement became amendable on 2024.05.15. As of 2026.09.11, 2 years, 3 months and 27 days—849 days—had elapsed since that date. CWA-AFA’s public chronology places bargaining in December 2023 and mediation in February 2025, with exact-day durations unavailable from those sources.
Process Signals
- CWA-AFA used the picket to press for higher wages, boarding pay and delay pay. Frontier told Denver7 that it remained committed to a fair agreement, was meeting monthly in NMB-supervised mediation and sought a result consistent with long-term sustainability.
- The public status chart still showed ten tentatively agreed sections, nine in play, seven to be proposed and one deadlocked at CrewSignal’s source check. Without a dated September 9–10 recap, CrewSignal does not assign additional section movement.
- The picket and any strike-authorization activity are pressure mechanisms, not a direct strike trigger. The RLA would still require an NMB impasse determination, arbitration proffer and rejection, release, and a thirty-day cooling-off period before lawful self-help could become available.
CrewSignal Assessment
This week showed the reach of CWA-AFA’s multi-carrier mobilization network: international officers and workers from other airlines joined a carrier-specific action. That can strengthen bargaining pressure, but turnout and media coverage are not substitutes for improved proposals or new tentative agreements.
At 849 days past the amendable date, the next report should show what the September 9–10 session changed. Objective advocacy requires crediting the public demonstration while withholding a claim of bargaining success until the section chart, economics or a written recap shows measurable movement.
