Status This Week
Frontier entered the week before a September 8 headquarters picket and September 9–10 bargaining dates focused on Scheduling, Hours of Service and Reserve. The public status chart continued to show ten tentatively agreed sections, nine sections in play, seven still to be proposed and one deadlocked section.
Contract timing: Frontier’s Flight Attendant agreement became amendable on 2024.05.15. As of 2026.09.04, 2 years, 3 months and 20 days—842 days—had elapsed since that date. CWA-AFA’s 2026 president report places bargaining in December 2023 and mediation in February 2025; because those sources provide months rather than exact dates, those separate durations remain approximate.
Process Signals
- Management’s August 11 compensation response remained the newest company wage proposal identified on the status chart. CWA-AFA calculated a 6.5 percent weighted-average initial increase and said the proposal omitted boarding and duty pay while seeking a five-year term.
- The chart continued to identify CWA-AFA as the responding party on Compensation, Hours of Service and Reserve, while management was shown as the responding party on the PBS letter and Sick Leave. That allocation matters because delay cannot be assigned accurately without tracking whose turn it is on each section.
- The September 8 picket was a mobilization and public-pressure event, not an NMB release, cooling-off period or direct strike trigger. The NMB weekly report for August 31–September 4 did not announce a Frontier closure or release.
CrewSignal Assessment
CWA-AFA’s multi-carrier structure was visibly supporting wage comparisons, staff negotiation, communications and mobilization. The next defensible performance test is whether the September sessions produce additional tentative agreements or a materially improved economic framework.
At 842 days past the amendable date, public pressure can be justified without overstating its legal effect. CrewSignal will distinguish a well-attended picket and cross-airline solidarity from actual contract movement, and will continue to track section responsibility rather than attribute the entire timeline to one side.
