Status This Week
Frontier’s public negotiations chart records an in-window proposal movement: CWA-AFA submitted a Sick Leave response on 2026.08.26, leaving the company to respond. The chart identifies four open Sick Leave issues—accrual, electronic sick call, the leave-message rule after twenty minutes, and cash-out. It does not show a new tentative agreement from that exchange.
Contract timing: Frontier’s Flight Attendant agreement became amendable on 2024.05.15. As of 2026.08.28, 2 years, 3 months and 13 days—835 days—had elapsed since that date. CWA-AFA’s 2026 president report says negotiations began in December 2023 and mediation began in February 2025; because only the months are given, those separate process durations remain approximate.
Process Signals
- The status chart now lists a Frontier compensation response dated August 11 and identifies CWA-AFA as the party to respond. That newer entry means the August 7 picket announcement’s statement that management had not offered a compensation counter should be treated as a dated allegation, not a current description after August 11.
- The chart also lists August 13 company responses in Hours of Service and Reserve and reports totals of 10 tentatively agreed sections, 9 in play, 7 to be proposed and 1 deadlocked. The August 26 Sick Leave counter is measurable section-level activity, but the economic core and numerous work-rule sections remain open.
- The September 8 headquarters picket remained the next announced mobilization event. A picket is an advocacy and pressure action; it is not an NMB release, a statutory cooling-off period or a direct strike trigger. The NMB FY2027 budget continues to identify Frontier in mediation, while the August 24–28 weekly report announced no Frontier status change.
CrewSignal Assessment
The August 26 counter is real movement and should be credited as such. It is also modest relative to an 835-day post-amendable period. The objective test is whether exchanges on Sick Leave, Compensation, Hours of Service, Scheduling and Reserve produce additional tentative agreements and a complete economic settlement.
The updated chart illustrates why CrewSignal uses source chronology rather than repeating advocacy claims after they become stale. CWA-AFA’s staff negotiator, status reporting and mobilization network demonstrate multi-carrier capacity; the persuasive question remains whether that capacity shortens the path to a ratifiable agreement without sacrificing contract quality.
