Status This Week
No new carrier-specific bargaining result was publicly posted during the 2026.08.15–2026.08.21 reporting window. The previously announced September 8 headquarters picket remained the next visible advocacy event.
Contract timing: Frontier’s Flight Attendant agreement became amendable on 2024.05.15. As of 2026.08.21, 2 years, 3 months and 6 days—828 days—had elapsed since that date. CWA-AFA’s 2026 president report says negotiations began in December 2023 and mediation began in February 2025; because only the months are given, those separate process durations are approximately 2 years and 8 months in negotiations and 1 year and 6 months in mediation.
Process Signals
- The NMB FY2027 budget justification continues to identify Frontier among the CWA-AFA Flight Attendant cases in federal mediation. The NMB weekly report for August 17–21 did not identify a Frontier status change, while not purporting to list every private exchange in an open case.
- The public Frontier status chart continued to show the next negotiations date as TBD. It listed Compensation as awaiting a company response to CWA-AFA’s 2026.03.16 revised proposal and Hours of Service, Scheduling and Reserve as awaiting company responses to June proposals. The chart totals were 10 tentatively agreed sections, 9 in play, 7 to be proposed and 1 deadlocked.
- The September 8 picket announcement alleged that management had withdrawn four previously agreed provisions and had not made a compensation counterproposal. Those are union claims and advocacy signals, not an NMB release, strike authorization or direct strike trigger.
CrewSignal Assessment
More than two years past the amendable date, the unresolved economic core is a material accountability issue. CWA-AFA’s multi-carrier structure is visibly supplying a staff negotiator, communications and mobilization capacity, but those inputs have not yet produced a complete public settlement.
The public status chart also identifies specific company responses as outstanding, so the elapsed time should not be presented as union-caused by default. The objective measure is whether scheduled bargaining, federal mediation and mobilization convert into economic counters, additional tentative agreements and a ratifiable contract.
