Status This Week
No written Breeze bargaining update dated during the 2026.08.29–2026.09.04 reporting window was located. The July negotiations account remained the latest detailed public report reviewed.
Contract timing: Breeze is bargaining a first agreement, so there is no contract amendable date. The NMB certified CWA-AFA representation on 2024.05.08. As of 2026.09.04, 2 years, 3 months and 27 days—849 days—had elapsed since certification while the first contract remained unresolved. Certification is not the first bargaining-session date.
Process Signals
- The July account reported a Benefits tentative agreement, a Part-Time draft developed with a shared playbook and other airline contracts, and multiple sections awaiting management counterproposals.
- The public newsletter archive still listed the July negotiations update as the newest bargaining report. The embedded status chart did not provide a text-based, date-specific September result that CrewSignal could independently describe.
- Breeze is not identified among the continuing CWA-AFA mediation cases listed in the NMB FY2027 budget justification. In the absence of a carrier-specific mediation notice, CrewSignal continues to describe the public process as direct first-contract bargaining.
CrewSignal Assessment
Breeze offers a concrete example of the potential value of a multi-carrier union: contract language can be built from a playbook and experience at other airlines. At 849 days since certification, however, the outcome record visible to members still consists of section work and at least one reported tentative agreement rather than a complete contract.
The absence of a timely August or early-September recap prevents a fair assessment of whether additional sections moved. Institutional scale becomes persuasive advocacy only when it is paired with current, durable reporting of counters, tentative agreements and unresolved economic issues.
