Status This Week
CWA-AFA held the two announced virtual roadshows on September 1 and September 3 while member voting on the Air Wisconsin tentative agreement remained open. Voting began September 1 at noon ET and was scheduled to close September 14 at noon ET. No ratification result existed by the close of this reporting window.
Contract timing: Air Wisconsin’s Flight Attendant agreement became amendable on 2022.10.01. As of 2026.09.04, 3 years, 11 months and 3 days—1,434 days—had elapsed since that amendable date. The current-round opener is dated 2022.08.16, 4 years and 19 days—1,480 days—before this report. CWA-AFA’s broader description of a process exceeding five years remains a separate union characterization.
Process Signals
- The Master Executive Council’s unanimous recommendation is an advocacy position within the ratification process; it is not member approval. The agreement becomes an outcome only if members ratify it and the parties implement it.
- The public announcement describes a two-year agreement with an early opener at eighteen months. The January 2026 23 percent raise and May 2026 Letter of Agreement were already secured and should be evaluated separately rather than counted again as new tentative-agreement value.
- The NMB weekly activity report for August 31–September 4 listed no new mediation dockets, reassignments, ratifications or closed cases, training, or facilitation. It did not list an Air Wisconsin closure, which is consistent with a vote that remained open.
CrewSignal Assessment
CWA-AFA’s multi-carrier communications and ratification apparatus was visible this week through two roadshows, voting administration, a published summary and leadership advocacy. Those inputs improve member access, but they do not answer the substantive question of whether the complete agreement justifies the four-year current-round wait.
CrewSignal will measure the result through member ratification, implementation dates, compensation, work rules, job security, retroactivity or signing payments, and the practical effect of the eighteen-month opener. Until the vote closes, the correct status is proposed settlement—not completed contract.
